HVAC Tips from Our Founder
Clean or replace your filters monthly
Keep return grille and supply registers clear of furniture, draperies, clothing, toys, etc. to ensure proper air flow
To save on energy costs, set your thermostat to the coolest setting you are comfortable with in the Winter, and the warmest setting you are comfortable with in the Summer
Have a professional inspect your duct system to make sure it is safe and has the proper amount of insulation
If you are having a heating or cooling problem, you should check the following before calling for service: tripped circuit breakers, blown fuses, or clogged filters
Never try to repair your heating & cooling system yourself. You could further damage your system, not to mention risk of electrocution, burn or other serious injury to yourself
Have your system serviced by a professional to ensure it is running at its peak performance
If your system is 10 years old or more, you may consider upgrading to a new, more efficient system to save you money on energy costs
If you are having your system serviced or having a new system installed, it is in your best interest to request a copy of the following documents:
Liability Insurance
Workers Compensation Insurance
State Contractors Licenses
City & County Business Licenses
You may also request references from the company. Ask your friends, family, neighbors and anyone else you may trust for their opinion
Make sure hedges, shrubs, etc., are trimmed away from your outdoor unit to ensure it has proper airflow and to allow room for your service technician to work
